SLIP MY SOUL ON A SWEET SUNDAY reuneix quatre versions de Fundación Tony Manero a càrrec de tres projectes de l'escena jazz catalana: The Gramophone Allstars Big band, The Changes i ·I·. A les mans d'aquests intèrprets els temes dels Manero (extrets tots de “Sweet Movimiento”, el seu segon LP en estudi) es passegen per diferents espectres del jazz.

Des del ska de tints jamaiquinos dels Gramophone fins al groove arrossegat i hip hopero de ·I· passant pel swing -més clàssic o més avantguardista segons el tema- de The Changes, aquestes quatre peces venen a demostrar que jazz i disc music són família. O cosa que és el mateix: que el jazz ha estat sempre música de ball.

SLIP MY SOUL ON A SWEET SUNDAY celebra el llegat d'una banda, Fundación Tony Manero, que es retira dels escenaris després de més de 25 anys obrint camins perquè siguin transitats per noves generacions i nous projectes. Entre altres els que ara agafen el testimoni en aquest EP.

SLIP MY SOUL ON A SWEET SUNDAY reúne cuatro versiones de Fundación Tony Manero a cargo de tres proyectos de la escena jazz catalana: The Gramophone Allstars Big Band, The Changes y ·I·. En las manos de estos intérpretes los temas de los Manero (extraídos todos de “Sweet Movimiento” su segundo LP en estudio) se pasean por diferentes espectros del jazz.

Desde el ska de tintes jamaiquinos de los Gramophone hasta el groove arrastrado y hip hopero de ·I· pasando por el swing -más clásico o más vanguardista según el tema- de The Changes, estas cuatro piezas vienen a demostrar que jazz y disco music son familia. O lo que es lo mismo: que el jazz ha sido siempre música de baile.

SLIP MY SOUL ON A SWEET SUNDAY celebra el legado de una banda, FTM, que se retira de los escenarios tras más de 25 años abriendo caminos para que sean transitados por nuevas generaciones y nuevos proyectos. Entre otros los que ahora cogen el testigo en este EP.

SLIP MY SOUL ON A SWEET SUNDAY brings together four versions of Fundación Tony Manero of three projects from the Catalan jazz scene: The Gramophone Allstars Big Band, The Changes and ·I·. In the hands of these interpreters, the Manero's themes (extracted all from "Sweet Movimiento", his second studio LP) are passed through different spectra of jazz.

From the ska of Jamaican Gramophone dyes to the hip-hop dragged groove of ·I· passing through the swing - more classical or more avant-garde depending on the theme - of The Changes, these four pieces come to show that jazz and music records are family. In other words: jazz has always been dance music.

SLIP MY SOUL ON A SWEET SUNDAY celebrates the legacy of one band, Fundación Tony Manero, who retires from the stage after more than 25 years opening up ways for them to be passed through by new generations and new projects. Among others, those who now take the witness on this EP.
